Even though I’ve already went on and on about the music I’ve enjoyed this year, I had to reserve a special article about the Idol scene in 2011. As far as I’m concerned, 2011 was really the year of the Idol. The wave may have started back in 2010, but it didn’t reach its full potential until this year.

It’s freakin’ December, man. Not only is it December, it’s the last half of December. This year has gone by extremely fast (oh, hi clichés), I don’t even believe it. Despite the relative speed at which this year has seemed to pass, I’ve experienced a butt load. Let me break down all the crap I’ve been privy to this year, starting with my passion: music. (more…)

We are nearing the end of the year, and it is time to do what everyone in the internet does: make lists. It’s time to look back at the bests and favorites of the year and think “Oh yeah that was pretty good, ha ha.” One thing that was a pretty huge hit this year was idol groups. I am a fan of cool music collaborations (who isn’t?), and lucky for me the wonderful Japanese music scene provides a lot of it. Whether meeting just for a one time performance, or a get together for a full album, collaborations between artists always give me a smile. Recent partnerships bring us Shibasaki Kou and two great producers; with their powers combined, they are galaxias!
