Chemistry is one of the top R&B acts in Japan. Formed in 2001, the duo consists of Yoshikuni Douchin and Kaname Kawabata. This year, Chemistry attended as one of the musical guests of honor for Otakon in Baltimore. JPHiP and nandake was there to bring you coverage of some of their activities.

Although I am not well versed in the Japanese Lolita fashion scene, it cannot be denied that it has been making waves Stateside for quite some time, and at the forefront of that is Baby, The Stars Shine Bright. This year, they attended Otakon with their subbrand, ALICE and the PIRATES, bringing along designers, Masumi Kano and Mitsuba. JPHiP and nandake attended their fashion show.

One item I was able to procure during my trip to Otakon was Chemistry’s best of album with their greatest hits chosen with their fans from 2001-2011. Ten years of Chemistry all in this best of album, and an autographed version can be yours!

There’s already been eighteen years of Otakon, but this is just my first time going. With it’s 2011 attendance of 31,348 people, this yearly convention held in Baltimore, MD is the second largest anime-based convention in the United States, and the largest in the East coast.
