Timex Weekender watches

Timex Weekender

Every gentleman (and lady) should have a reliable watch in his (or her) wardrobe; and I don’t mean cheap little digital watches from 50 cent gumball machines. Nice quality timepieces are quite pricey, but Timex have come along and made a series of watches that are both good quality and affordable. Check out the review after the jump.

Watch maker Timex recently released a new line of affordable watches for men and women. Named the Weekender collection, these watches have a very simplistic, yet fashionable and classy design that can fit any occasion. The collection carries four styles; a men’s and women’s casual style, with bold numbers and dials for a retro look, and leather straps for a casual accent to every outfit; the Sports style, which features a larger case, 24 hour time markers, and a tachymeter for that distinct sporty look; and finally, the Slip Thru and Bracelets style that comes with strong NATO nylon straps in various colors and a stainless steel bracelet respectively.

All the watches have a stainless steel case, quartz movement, and are 30m water resistant, which is standard for everyday use.  Washing hands and the rain should be no problem, just don’t go swimming with them. The watches also feature Timex’s Indiglo light, which brightens the whole face when the crown is pushed in; a nifty little feature, definitely better than those glow in the dark dials.

I picked up the Slip Thru (in glorious nandake..?/JPH!P pink) style and I have to say, the watch is great. I own a lot of different watches; some expensive, most cheap, but this Timex has been getting a lot of wear.  The timeless 1940s Field Watch inspired style is very simple and easily complements any outfit. Also, with interchangeable nylon straps available in assorted colors, the watch becomes an accessory that will stay in style for years.

If you’re looking for a reliable and affordable watch, look no further than the Timex Weekender. They may not be the vintage TAG or Rolex you would hand down to your kid, but for casual everyday wear, these watches are pretty solid. It’s definitely something I know I’m going to use for a while.

The Timex Weekender collection retail for $40-$50 USD from various stores.
