Veteran fans of Korean music know the quality of Jaurim and their songs. If you’re tired the generic electronica and dance tracks in KPop and you want something more lively than a ballad track, look no further. As one of the most popular (as far as I’m concerned) rock groups in South Korea, does Jaurim’s latest release live up to their name?
In preparation for their 8th album, Jaurim released a single consisting of two tracks. The first track is titled, “EV1,” and the song literally is about a car. To be honest, I don’t really understand the metaphor they’re going for in the lyrics, so I won’t really try to explain it. The song is more of a downtempo acoustic song which really highlights the beautiful voice of Kim Yoonah. You can hear a bit of the song in the MV teaser below.
The second track is called “Peep Show.” The song is more upbeat and rocky with electric guitars instead of acoustics. I’ve added the song’s MV teaser below so you can hear some of this song as well.
I don’t really have much to say about the tracks other than I enjoy them and I recommend to check them out if you’re interested in Korean music and are looking for something different than the norm these days. I definitely enjoy Jaurim, and they’re well known for their arrangements and of course Kim Yoonah’s vocal talents. These two songs are no different and I’m very much looking forward to the album.
